Ways That Saddle Nose Can Negatively Impact Your Life

Saddle nose treatment New York, NY

Saddle nose can occur because of a genetic abnormality, illness, injury, surgery errors or drug use. Some people live a lifetime without ever seeking treatment for saddle nose. However, those individuals may suffer in ways that they don’t even realize.

At a basic level, saddle nose affects facial appearance and can result in functional issues. In both cases, there are associated health concerns that should factor when considering treatment. While there are numerous potential problems you may face, these examples can impact psychological and physical health.

Facial Aesthetics

In some cases, saddle nose is a highly visible feature that upsets the balance and symmetry of the face. Sufferers may experience feelings of inadequacy, embarrassment and lack of confidence. It is not uncommon for such individuals to suffer from mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

Facial aesthetics can dictate opportunities in friendships, romance and your chosen career path. Repairing the damage from saddle nose will positively affect how you feel about yourself, which could open doors to a more fulfilling life.

Nasal Functionality

Breathing is one of the most essential functions of living. The quality of air that a person is able to inhale is important. If you breathe through your mouth because of nasal functionality issues, the air is not as effectively filtered.

When a person struggles to breathe, the heart has to work harder. This can cause unnecessary strain and additional health problems. The body needs to process oxygen in a way that feeds circulatory and cardiovascular systems efficiently.

Athletic or Musical Ambitions

For younger sufferers of saddle nose, certain ambitions are made difficult or impossible to achieve. Breathing issues can affect the performance of budding athletes. It is also challenging to play some instruments or sing if breathing is an issue.

Athletes in contact sports are especially vulnerable to saddle nose injuries. Without treatment, skill and cardio levels will diminish. Fighters are more likely to suffer this type of damage due to punches, elbows and other direct blows to the nose.

Saw Dr. Khosh for a fractured nose. He reset my nose beautifully (and with little discomfort to me) and then discussed some of my sinus issues with me upon my follow up visit. Never felt like he was rushing me out and felt very confident in his abilities. I would highly recommend to anyone needing plastic or reconstructive options!

Upon hearing of the overwhelmingly positive experience a friend of mine had in choosing Dr. Khosh as her surgeon, I decided to make an appointment for my own septoplasty/rhinoplasty/turbinate reduction. Although I was slightly skeptical as the praise I had heard seemed a bit hyperbolic, all uncertainty dissipated after meeting the Doctor and his staff. My pre- and post-operative experience was excellent in terms of concerns adequately addressed prior to the surgery and mitigation of any bruising in the convalescent period. Despite my apparent predisposition to rather slower healing, a year after the surgery, my nose looks really pretty and my breathing entirely unobstructed! I highly recommend Dr. Khosh!

AMAZING!!!!!! I had Dr Khosh perform lipo on my chin/neck and my result is unbelievable! Better than I could have expected! I met with a couple of surgeons and the second I met with Dr Khosh I knew he was the one I was going with. He was compassionate and explained every detail of what would take place during the surgery and what to expect during recovery. I even emailed a few times during recovery with various questions and he got right back to me asap which was really comforting! I honestly fully recommend Dr Khosh, he did an amazing job and is an amazing person.
